Why don't most new startup online businesses work?

Why don't most new startup online businesses work?

Well for me it's simple ,the same reason a lot of other new businesses don't work - people just give up too soon. What do I mean by that?.... I'll explain below.

When I started my property business for example, I bought my first house in 2004 and saw no increase in value - in fact, a drop in value and no real monthly profit from rent - fast forward 18 years and it's paid for itself 5/6 times over - almost doubled in value and pays me £500 a month and this growth has allowed me to buy several more houses - some much more savvy buys and creative management -  which were a lot more profitable a lot quicker, once I had the knowledge and experience. Of course, it helps when the economy circumstances are in your favour, but even in a crash, overtime, this came good and lead to much better things.

I ended up with a portfolio of £1.5 Million which gives me a great income for about 1 days' work a month max - but that certainly didn't come overnight - I had to keep a job while building and learning.

My clothing brand - I invested £30,000 and didn't see one penny of wages for 2 years, and had a lot of learning curves, expenses and blows whilst building my knowledge, skills, experience.

This business started up as nothing... 2 years later - I have another great income.

Now with 2 good incomes in industries I know very well - this allowed me to start my online business,  which again ...started small with no income and grew from there.

For someone reading this - this is why starting small and gradually building something up while still in your 9-5 job for example is far more realistic than quitting more and building a great business overnight.

It takes time to learn new skills - let alone get good at them - especially if you hope to have something that pays good money for not a great deal of time.... Compare it to going to Uni - 3/4 years of learning and debt before going in at the bottom. A first-year student could really be a consultant straight away, they don't know the foundations let alone the job - let alone being a manager...... or a consultant.

My advice from real life experience is:

Remember nothing worth doing is easy and if it could be done overnight, everyone would be doing it!

Take your time, learn from people with real success stories, don't be afraid to invest some money or time into yourself, be patient, never stop growing and for goodness' sake - DON'T GIVE UP!!!!.

I do hope you found this short article a useful small insight into what possible but a bit about what it takes .... anyone can do it if they have the right mindset!

If you would like to learn more about the above, please feel free to reach out.

All the best

Steve
